I had the great opportunity to sit down with Rich, and listen to the most interesting Stories about Business, Failure, Success and of course working together with arguably the biggest CEO's ever, Steve Jobs. 

Right from the beginning Rich told me all about his role and why he was able to work together with Steve Jobs as successful as he did. It was not only his bright ideas and capabilities to build hardware, but most importantly the ability to fight against Jobs. That's what the Apple Co-Founder was searching for, someone who is able not to back down and stand his ground. Jobs' philosophy was that only with hard tasks, fights, discussions and giving 110% a company would be able to be successful and overcome all of the competition.

One interesting Story Rich told me about working at NeXT was that he once went to Jobs office and said he knew a bright and young Software Engineer who would be great for NeXT. Shortly after the young man got an appointment with Jobs and Page and was introducing himself and telling about his career path. Steve Jobs only had one question: ''Are you the best Software Engineer of your current company?''. Unexperienced and young as the guy was he was hesitant and couldn't answer the question confidently. He replied: ''I think there are other guys better than me''. Jobs took the young mans curriculum vitae, found an empty page and told him: ''Write down the name and phone number of the best Engineer of your company.'' and threw him out of the office.

That was quite interesting, to hear how cruel and competitive the working environment around Steve Jobs was. Even more so it is impressive and only shows how genius Rich is, that he was basically Jobs right hand for over 10 years. Working and negotiating with Chip Manufactures during his time at Apple, and doing the same while working at NeXT. He has an honorable Members Card with American Airlines, with over 2 Million Miles. All from his trips to Asia and back, having hard negotiations with Sony, Motorola and many more partner companies of Apple and NeXT.

It was an awesome to sit together with an interesting guy like Rich Page, hearing so many stories and also getting one of his personal NeXT Computers for my Museum.
